The rugged Mendocino coast in northern California is a magical place where the sea embraces the earth, snuggling close to its boundaries. The sea and earth may never fully know each other, as it is not the nature of water to be grounded. And it is not the nature of earth to be flooded by the depths of water. They must be content to rest side by side, appreciating the other for its unique being.
